Conversion of essentially analog patient parameters (in the form of graphs and images) into Digital format has enabled the application of powerful tools of digital technology (like Communication, Data Processing, Storage and retrieval of information) to Medical Science. Digital technology is growing fast and constant efforts are made to harvest the fruits of this technology for human welfare. Medical field is an extremely complex and fast growing field. Many benefits from digital technology have already gone in. Need of the hour is that Technologist should appreciate the need of Medical Science and develop tools to meet the challenges. On the other hand, the Clinician should also be familiar with the Power of Digital technology and should ask for solutions using this technique if it suits his/her requirements. Clinicians can derive a lot of advantages from the existing technology if their needs can be spelled out. Technologists should closely watch the various procedures followed in clinics and should suggest ways to minimize human intervention in each process to avoid errors and imperfections and to save time and labour. This paper points out areas where Clinicians can derive further benefits from the existing technology. Aspect requiring cautions are also indicated to avoid damages to the society.
