Abstract |
The objective of this paper is to propose a new architecture for a distributed monitoring system with intelligent mobile agent. This architecture is implemented for various distributed applications which can monitor any real time system. In this intelligent agent architecture, the hosts are connected in Ethernet. The hosts will communicate to each other through a mobile agent code in distributed environment using aglet transfer protocol. The mobile agent code is an agent code, which is capable of transferring the data from one host to the other host based on the request from the client. The agents are intelligent and distributed in nature and it works similar to Remote Procedure Call (RPC). The advantage of implementing this intelligent agent is to overcome the limitations of RPC as it is advantageous for implementing in a distributed environment. In this proposed model client server architecture is established for monitoring a real time control system. The clients request the server to process the data given and the server processes the data by referencing with the distributed database. The database holds all the data that has to be referenced and the process or automation is done in the server and then sent back to client. Inorder to perform this in intelligent agent environment, Aglet model [2] is implemented for distributed intelligent agent environment. These aglets are web based agents and hence the process is easily monitored via Internet by secured transmission [1].. The mobile agent model proposed is applied for the patient monitoring and diagnostic system. In the patient monitoring and diagnostic system, each patient is connected to the automated server called as medical information server (MIS) which in turn connected to the medical information database which holds all the medical data. In this medical agent distributed model, the monitoring and diagnosed system is clustered with various databases like diabetic database, respiratory diagnostic database, blood pressure monitoring database. When each of the above databases is invoked, MIS verifies whether the data received is normal or critical. Based on the conditions of the diagnostic parameter values, the MIS provides response to the patient. The primary concern of this model is the transmission of data between the client (patient) and the server. The data retrieved from the database is converted in the XML [3] format and sends to the client. This model incorporates XML because XML is preferred for transmitting data through a distributed, platform independent public network. The architecture supports various standards including Network standards, interfaces, communication protocols and data definitions.
