| Abstract |
Today the world’s business environment is rapidly changing. Organizations are striving to succeed by identifying different means that will give them a competitive advantage. Pharmaceutical companies are not unaware of these changes. They are becoming more and more responsible for supply and distribution of goods and services, necessary to meet an organization’s strategic objective. No one can ignore the importance of strategic and innovative supply chain in driving benefit from networking of business partners. The pharmaceutical companies can properly manage supply chain in which different activities are performed so as to ensure the availability of right type of medicines at right time at all level without holding excess inventory. To ensure smooth functioning of all the component of the supply chain we have to maintained proper flow of information and material among various levels. This paper aims to Analyze the present system of supply chain in the pharmaceutical companies, understand bottlenecks and develop a New model on IT based Supply Chain Management. |
